Dating in parts from 1613, the Royal Oak overlooks open countryside. What was the bar at the front is now a 36 cover restaurant. The food is home made and of good quality and may occasionally feature local game. This room is split-level and has low ceilings. To the rear of the pub is what is now the main bar. This leads to the garden where there is a large heated smokers' patio at the back plus another, partially covered, patio area down the side. The side car park also has a large number of tables on it, with cars now parking opposite the pub. Food is available from 12-2:30 and 6-9 Wednesday to Saturday and 12-5 Sunday, when roasts are also available to take away. Dogs are welcome in the bar if they are on leads. A guest beer may sometimes additionally be available.
