In a beautiful setting by the picturesque church and village green, the 17th century Royal Oak is situated in the centre of the village, and is a lovely place to sit outside on a summer's day. The Felday Brewery is part of the pub, operating from a custom made brewery towards the car park with Legacy being their regular beer. The guest beer is likely to be from Big Smoke, Felday or from a local brewer. Occasionally a real cider may be available. There is a small entrance porch leading to a cosy bar where homemade meals are served from 12-3 and 5-9 Monday to Thursday, 12-9 Friday and Saturday and 12-7 Sunday. At one end of the bar is an attractive fire. There is further dining space at the back up some stairs, which is sometimes used for functions, and leads into a patio garden at the back which can also be accessed from the car park. There is also a front garden with an outside bar. The pub is a popular destination with walkers and cyclists (for whom there is a lockable cycle rack) and dogs are welcome.
