The Prince Albert had been known as such since 1882, although the building dates back to about 1500 and is Grade II listed. It was originally a three bay medieval timber framed open hall house. When it closed, in November 2013, it had a central bar serving three rooms. The secluded suntrap of a garden, with fishpond, was a good place enjoy a quiet pint or three. Sports fans were well catered for as the pub offered darts, shove ha'penny, bar billiards, pool and table football. A Friary Meux pub, it became a free house which was then bought by Fullers. Unfortunately the pub went through a succession of licencees in its latter years and sadly in April 2015 it was announced that permission had been granted to convert the pub to housing.
