An old coaching inn which had its own ghost, the Hunters Moon closed in 2004. It was originally called the Builder's Inn, changing its name to the Hunters Moon in 1959. A free house serving a number of beers, its name was the Jamaica Inn for a while in the 1980s. During the 1980s it was run partly as a disco pub, but towards the end of its life it was a hotel catering for the Gatwick trade. At this stage it was advertising itself as a "true English Inn with open log fireplace, comfortable lounges and a walled patio garden". Food was a major part of the pub's trade in these latter years. The building is still standing and is part of a housing development.
