Hunters Moon Inn
Address: Copthorne Bank Post Code: RH10 3JF Location: COPTHORNE OS Ref: TQ 320397 (Bing Maps) (Google Maps)
CLOSED/DEMOLISHED Closed Date: 2004 An old coaching inn which had its own ghost, the Hunters Moon closed in 2004. It was originally called the Builder's Inn, changing its name to the Hunters Moon in 1959. A free house serving a number of beers, its name was the Jamaica Inn for a while in the 1980s. During the 1980s it was run partly as a disco pub, but towards the end of its life it was a hotel catering for the Gatwick trade. At this stage it was advertising itself as a "true English Inn with open log fireplace, comfortable lounges and a walled patio garden". Food was a major part of the pub's trade in these latter years. The building is still standing and is part of a housing development. Last Updated: 09 Jan 2018
